Know which metrics need attention right now

The Goals dashboard shows overall org progress as a single percentage, alongside three status cards: On Track, Approaching, Needs Focus. Click any card to filter the table. The team slipping at week 4 becomes visible immediately.

Set targets grounded in industry data, not gut feel

When you set a target for any metric, Hivel surfaces the industry benchmark alongside your initial value. You see what you do today, what the industry considers healthy, and what's realistic before committing.

Track every team's progress separately, on the same cadence

Switch the Goals view between Organization and Team scope. Each team has its own targets, initial values, and progress. Org-level views can mask team-level slippage. Team-level goals make the distinction visible.

Goals History archives every past month and quarter's targets and results. Pull up any period to see what was set, what was reached, and what progressed. Improvement trajectory in one screen, not a slide deck.

Frequently asked questions

Can different teams have different targets for the same metric?

Yes. Goals can be set separately at the organization and team level. Each team can have its own cycle time target, review coverage target, and so on. Org-level and team-level goals are tracked independently on the same screen.

Where does the initial value come from when I set a goal?

Hivel automatically calculates the initial value from the period immediately before the one you're setting goals for. If you're setting a Q2 quarterly goal, the initial value reflects Q1's actual data. No manual entry required.

Can we see whether we hit last quarter's goals?

Yes. Goals History archives every past period with the targets that were set and the progress achieved. View any month or quarter's goals in detail, useful for leadership reviews and board conversations about whether engineering is improving over time.
